Summary
Ego builds an AI-native simulation engine where users create 3D animated characters, worlds, and games using natural language. They fine-tune a foundation model for human-like character behavior and built their Character engine on Unreal, allowing creators to deploy AI characters across any surface via their CCProtocol. Founded by Vishnu Hari, who led AI Applied Research at Facebook and product at Meta Horizon, they solve the problem of scripting complex game interactions and creating NPCs with true agency. During YC, they built TownWorld, a 3D real-time simulation of the Stanford generative agents paper, and CharacterIdol, where AI agents compete American Idol-style.
